Your right about loading up on debt is done by dumb people, that accounts for most of our political leaders who cannot run a country without massive debt or their own family budget unless they receive extraordinarily high wages for zero production and little accountability.
Gold will be controlled by corrupt banks but their day will come soon enough. It is a scarce commodity getting more expensive to find and mine and the wealthy Indians and Chinese love gold.
