Hi golden,
The Field in Motion microarrays are special magnetic micro-array films for integration into products that capture the energy of motion of normal consumer behaviour and redirects that to achieve new levels of product performance and surface penetration.
Initial targets for the FIM® technology include:
Tooth Brushes ‐ for enhanced tooth whitening, demineralisation and desensitization
Hair Brushes ‐ for enhanced hair dye penetration, straightening and conditioning
Skin Applicators and Wipes – for anti‐ageing, moisturising and depilatory applications
Surface cleaners – for increased penetration of disinfectants, anti‐microbials and cleaners
(*Please refer to announcement on 13/05/2010)
The CR scaremongering that has risen on HC is based on pure nonsense!
The Company have not been informed by GSK Consumer Healthcare (UK) of their future plans regarding manual toothbrushes. I assume the work with Sensodyne is being undertaken by GSK Oral Healthcare in the US (one of OBJ's valued clients). I agree that the 'verbal' communication from GSK was "very odd" but I believe that there is quite a distinct difference between science and magic, and I suspect that GlaxoSmithKline will continue to progress their work in the interest of the former.
An ongoing relationship with GSK (UK) and OBJ’s own internal development programs in the Oral Health sector advanced with the completion of successful OBJ sponsored ex-vivo studies showing enhanced delivery of key oral health ingredients used in the treatment of teeth hypersensitivity (sensitive teeth) and tooth demineralization (re-hardening). The studies undertaken by the independent Modus Laboratories of the UK demonstrated statistically significant increases in the delivery of key compounds into the tooth enamel in as little as two minutes using a toothbrush-styled applicator incorporating OBJ’s FIM technology.
The Company has been focused on developments in the powered toothbrush field for some time due to the increased available energy derived from the motion of the powered toothbrush head. OBJ continues to work on a number of oral healthcare applications and will advise the market of progress
when material events occur. The Company is currently in discussions with two major international Companies with an interest in exploring magnetic micro‐array technology in the electric toothbrush field.
The international Joint Venture, recently signed between GSK and Novartis, expands opportunities for the
Company’s technologies in the analgesic field with the new product development responsibilities and priorities
under the JV expected to become clearer in the next quarter (Q2/2015).
