How the brain generates conscious experience is not understood, but I think you'd be lucky to find many neuroscientists who do not accept the proposition that it is the activity of the neural networks of the brain that are responsible for generating conscious representation of information, both from input from the senses and memory function, integrating into perception and recognition (memory function).
Those that do, probably hold personal religious beliefs, including the concept of a 'soul' or some form of 'non material' input. But this is not supported by evidence.
