It hasn't just suddenly appeared as a result of this war else how do you explain the deep hatred that caused 9/11 and the resultant applause of the ME Arabs in particular.
This hatred is long standing and was just as strong under and before a Clinton led US. It is inflamed by quasi-religious considerations and is triumphalist and universalistic in it's goals.
Part of the necessity for this war is that it will act as a sobering "circuit breaker" for a raging Arab world.
The Arab reaction to this conflict, should have acted as a litmus to us Westerners, to show us what is in store for the world from Arab fanaticism, if it doesn't get the sort of jolt the Coalition will give it (as a side effect) by the removal of the Ba'ath regime in Iraq.
