The reality is that this stock is thinly traded and the share price is pushed around on thin volumes. You cannot look at the day to day share price as any real guide.
The directors of this company and management (which includes Fred Bart) have an incredibly high percentage of ownership. They have every interest in maximising their exit price and it will not be done before time so there is no point in pushing the share price just for the sake of it. This company is very valuable and Northrop know it. That is why they paid $4.50.
