“I guess I’ve been lucky,’’ says modest investor Warren Brown. The 69-year-old and his wife Marilyn, 65, own more than 15 million shares in Andrew “Twiggy’’ Forrest’s Fortescue Metals Group and other resources stock. “I’m a patient investor, not a trader,’’ says Mr Brown, but he admits it takes “nerves of steel’’ to ride out the peaks and troughs of the sharemarket. The couple lead a quiet suburban life in the same house they have owned for nearly 40 years, and Mr Brown only recently bought the second new car of his life.
