Yes I think it will be the way of the future. A personal assistant won't have to be in the form of an expensive robot, though I think that will be inevitable too as the cost gets cheaper. I think our smart phone will have a lot more cognitive capability built into it shortly. And if the intelligence is limited because of the size constraint, we may have a home based assistant that is not constrained by size and it will communicate with us through our mobile devices. It won't be called a personal computer anymore - it will be called a personal assistant. We will do a lot more speaking and a lot less typing with it I guess.
