I don't know if you actually read the announcement associated with the memory chip development. The technology has already been developed by UNSW. They have established the reliability of the tech through testing. The funds are being allocated to establish a working prototype within the next 6 months.

I'd love to know the access speeds for data. You would expect it to be faster than a tradition disc drive, the question is speed vs solid state drives. They are talking massive storage capacity for something smaller than a current USB flash drive.
