Not sure I can agree with you about Amanda's compassion as I remember well her stint as Minister for Immigration. Not much compassion shown there. Still, she does have lot of rat cunning.
As for the Machiavellian cabinet leaks theory, I don't reckon any of them have the neurons to pull off the ploy she's concocted.
