I understand your comment however ........ this question really perplexes me and I am searching for an answer - when you cash out and put "money in the bank" what does one do with it then??????

I have been fortunate to grow my portfolio a bit and sometimes have shares I want to cash in ........ but where do you then put the money if not back into the market ????

Car parks, boat moorings?
Usually I don't have squillions - just a few $K - maybe 20k - 50k.
Can't buy a house or unit with that amount - don't have margin loan to pay down ?????????
