Pensioners are optimistic about a rise in interest rates, it's a bit simplistic to write off the entire situation as everyone being pessimistic - there's such a thing as being a realist. Gassin is being pessimistic about the unemployment situation, forecasting a rise in the next quarter. Though being fantastically optimistic about the outcome of a high unemployment rate.
