The products appear quite different. ZIP is a direct consumer app, aimed at low budget customers for use in their home locations. It could obviously be used by travellers also, but that doesn't appear to be the companies first target market.

A quick look over the (very scant) information publicly available about the CORONA product looks like they provide corporate and business solutions. More closely aligned with Flexiroam in the sense that you divert your local number to their service, and its then routed to wherever you are in the world.

On a cursory look, I am a bit sceptical. For example on the recent investor presentation they place Zip, Viber and Skype in the same "affordable, low usability, low seamlessness and low voice quality" segment, vs their solution in the affordable, high usability, seamless and high quality" section.

In my personal experience, Skype is fairly easy to use, you can divert numbers to it and make outgoing calls from your own verified number. The call quailty - again in my person experience only - is better than Viber and google Hangouts, even over 3g networks.

When you consider that Microsoft is pushing ahead with its integrated Lync/VOIP/OCs products are being merged into "skype for business" they will be just one of the many significant competitors.

I cant see how Skype for business (as just one example) would not be a direct competitor to this product. Already being established in so many organisations might make it hard to disrupt.

Perhaps I'm missing something about the product or platform. I will try to have a deeper look in future.
