Well it would be a bit foolish to only invest in Australia and the American market would be the largest international share holding of most.

I will be irrational and say I wouldn't buy the Dow currently. But nor would I buy property in parts of Australia.

Anyway this is about taking on excessive leverage not debating the merits of asset classes which in theory should match in the long term.
