We initiate coverage of Great Gold Mines (GNL) with a BUY
recommendation. GNL has consolidated an extensive
package of gold and base metal exploration tenements
covering 3,000km2, extending 230km along the Southern
extension of Laverton Tectonic Zone (SLTZ) in the Eastern
Goldfields of Western Australia (WA). The Northern strike of
the LTZ hosts some of Australia’s largest gold discoveries
including Sunrise Dam and Granny Smith. GNL is about to
embark on a A$1-3M exploration programme focusing on the
Edjudina and Yundamindera projects in the Northern
tenements and Pinjin in the central tenements where a small
high-grade gold discovery has been made at Saxon
Extended. The company also has base metal and gold
potential to the south within Tantalum Australia Joint
Venture (TAJV) tenements and Roe tenements near Erayinia.
GNL recently entered into a joint venture with Newmont
Mining on the Wild Dam project south of Pinjin. We
recommend investors BUY GNL for exposure to an exciting
exploration programme in a highly prospective region of WA."
