    Hi @earlyrise

Thanks for the youtube video and of course thanks to @nasabear for sending that link earlier.
I’ve been following gold very closely and Rick Rule and his business partner, Eric Sprott are 2 of the most well known names among gold experts. So I’ve actually seen this interview earlier but could not resist seeing the whole thing again. I definitely agree with Rick on gold and here is my own analysis on gold that I've shared earlier, if anyone is interested (Warning – It is very long; so don’t read my gold analysis before reading anything else in this comment)

I’ve spoken of Rick Rule earlier myself right from my 1st analysis

Few relevant extracts below which are relevant to rest of my comment–

“The only other stock which I like is TON because of its massive upside potential. Just look at Paladin energy (PDN) and Fortescue (FMG) charts when they were taking off in the last decade to see how much upside potential TON has in the long run.”

“There is a good article online where famous resource investor and current gold bull Rick Rule talks of PDN being one of his best investments where he originally purchased at 10c and topped up at 1 c – that was not a time to sell but to buy more and average the cost. PDN eventually rose to over 10 AUD – 1000 times from its low in some years.”

Rick Rule and Sprott are great longer term investors. If any investor has contact with management, then one recommendation could be that management approaches them from a possibility of being a long term cornerstone equity investor.

“I’ll end with the link to the article of Rick Rule and his investment in PDN as it moved from 10c to 1c to 10 AUD. This is one of the finest illustrations of how short term pain can lead to great returns.”

So yeah, those were some of my points on Rick, earlier. Rick Rule and his beliefs and strategies definitely have influenced me to a large extent and I am definitely a believer of buying when price has capitulated. That was one of the reasons why I had to share my thoughts in March since price had capitulated to truly silly levels and especially vs SYR (I think market cap difference was 16 times or something then as SYR’s market cap was 0.8 billion vs TON’s 49 million– truly insane market cap differential.)

The example I gave of PDN was one of the best examples I could come up with. Like I’ve said earlier, PDN and FMG charts are fantastic to see natural resource cycles and I’ve always had these 2 charts in mind with TON.

I understand and respect that many people prefer the day/short term trading route and do get disheartened with falls, as they monitor the price on a day to day basis. But these falls provide some great opportunities for those with a longer time horizon – cash balance permitting of course.

Rick talks a lot about gold. There are other parallels of TON with the gold industry. Many following gold believe that gold itself is being manipulated. For long term investors, this would in fact provide a tremendous opportunity to invest.

Have I doubted that TON share price was manipulated? Yes – I’ve always had my doubts! It is actually one of the main reasons why I’m so keen to dig my heels even deeper and hang on till the end game because it makes me believe that the TON fundamentals could be even greater than I imagine.

I think just dismissing any possibility of price manipulation is extremely naïve and especially in light of recent ASIC investigation into potential manipulation of SYR sometime back.
Here are 2 recent comments explaining further –

Here is another recent article linked by @After03 on the SYR forum which seems to be a continuation of the same story

It is important again to note that the earlier article just suggests that an investigation is on. Nothing is conclusive and the early article even goes on to say that there is no suggestion of wrongdoing.

Nevertheless, one has to question the motives of anyone laughing at the probability that TON shares could have been manipulated, especially since a lot of the same situations have occurred with TON. What is most notable is that TON was savagely struck down each time any good news came about. I’ve not seeing it happen with that ferocity with any other company. It almost appeared as if someone wanted to prevent TON from ever having a market cap high enough to have a good capital raising. Appeared almost as if someone wanted to strangle TON at a key point (funding – another area which I have been highlighting from the start) – because if TON can’t have a proper capital raising at a higher market cap, then TON has to dilute at a low price.
All the above is nothing conclusive of course but definitely suspicious. And of course, accompanied by the almost insane 700 and more comments including a lot of spam that we received at the start of April (a very key point for TON again), a lot of which was just fear - inspiring 1 liners.

Kudos to TON management for persevering and keeping ticking boxes. All this could be irrelevant if we simply go in for debt funding. It is to be noted that different market games can be played later on too, with companies encouraged to take on too much debt and pursue too rapid expansion and thus bankrupting them, and hence this is one area where I have mentioned that I would prefer if TON exercises due caution in the time to come.
All a tricky game but I believe that TON will get through shining.

On TON’s part, I just hope that they continue to monitor the situation closely, build a massive file documenting all suspicious activity and maybe approach ASIC at some point of time again with their evidence.

Kudos to @Captain Morgan for this superb comment yesterday explaining manipulation and how it will have zero impact in longer run. I definitely agree with Captain on the fundamentals. I myself am a great fan of the fundamentals and am always waiting to see what great news TON will come up next and which box will be ticked next.

Kudos also to @Rat1973 for great comments explaining the manipulation and how to solve it. 2 great ones are below -

As Rat1973 correct mentions if consistent/supportive buy interest exists, this would not be an issue. This is similar logic that I had in mind whenever I see that insto support is one of the main things that I’d be hoping that TON has in future. Also same logic when I talk of how just one insto supporting TON can shake up the entire register because price is truly disconnected from fundamentals.

I’ve mentioned Rick Rule and Sprott in my 1st analysis itself some months back. IMO, it could be a great idea for TON to contact them directly. Rick Rule is a very long term oriented investor (see the PDN example) and Rick and Sprott would make fabulous cornerstone investors, if they are keen to come on board.

I’ve always like last decade's PDN(uranium)/FMG(iron) examples for TON because TON(graphite) reminds me of something similar – commodity yet to truly take off, company just starting, good mine life, etc. And now we also have FMG's Catlow on board. Great for us!

Lastly, I see lots of conversations about Tesla again. IMO if batteries truly take off, then without any doubt,China and Chinese companies will be important players in time to come and they would have their own gigafactories. So I don’t see Tesla as the all important player in the longer run. I’ve shared my thoughts before here

I thought for a minute that I was on our neighbour’s forum where I’m yet to pass my 1st comment. I had to rub my eyes a couple of times to ensure that I was still on the TON board.
