- digitalBTC (ASX: DCC) has commenced beta testing of AirPocket, less than two months after announcing its intention to disrupt the half a trillion dollar global remittance market.
- AirPocket is a disruptive mobile remittance payments application which leverages the security of the Blockchain, has a low cost infrastructure enabling cost competitive fees and a user-to-agent model to find the best solution in each market. It will enable a customer to transmit cash anywhere in the world, cost effectively, through a peer-to-peer model, without using institutional intermediaries.
- digitalBTC has identified the US$64 billion market in Latin America and the Caribbean as the initial primary market for AirPocket.
- It has formed a Joint Venture Company with U.S. based partners who bring significant business experience in the finance, telecoms and remittance sectors in the region to develop commercial partnerships with large corporations to achieve broader consumer appeal, accelerate distribution and build awareness.
