Agree Mug and I still like to surf around to see what pops up like that Share Cafe / Wise Owl commentary from a couple of days ago to get a feel if any commercial inroads are happening in any way.

Even though it is quite difficult to find any direct information from the likes of Purdue / ICBR etc. in regards to testing (secrecy to be expected of course), it always nice to find references to "corneal scanning" in other (security) sites. I like to think that maybe the tech is slowly getting recognised as a possible biometric access alternative even though not commercially available as yet.

Maybe the word is out...who knows....

We had the first "direct" reference I found & posted back in April from a Boston article on building security sponsored by J M Electrical (Building Security) though the embedded link to WBT info was an old avg one from Sept 14 - some of the longer holders may recall it:

The use of biometrics is on the rise in building security globally. By 2020, the global biometrics market is expected to be worth $25B, and developments are in the works to further improve the security technology.
One way biometrics is used in building security involves scanning a person’s tears to create an impenetrable password. That person can be recognized because the corneas have a unique map, and if criminals try to steal data or gain access to a building it will be rendered invalid upon use.

And this morning while surfing I found this reference by a Fort Lauderdale Fire & Security Co:

    http://www.cardaccesssystemsfortlauderdale.com/info-center-what-are-card-access-systems.html

Card access systems, more commonly referred to as access control systems, are a type of security measure that enables better control on who has access on one's own properties like offices, buildings and certain rooms and when that access shall be granted. In this type of security system, individuals are allowed access via designated access cards, token or a similar sort of key at a particular access point in your property. In more sophisticated and advanced designs, people gain access through fingerprint or corneal recognition. Depending on the design or type of property, there may be several access or entry points, as well as specific access cards at a certain point or at a certain time.

Residential and business areas could greatly benefit from having additional security systems such as card access systems Broward. More and more offices, homes and buildings are finding it to be more useful. Because of card access systems, the owners of such properties are more in control as to who can readily gain access to their hard-earned investments. Aside from card access systems, more complicated and high-tech security systems such as corneal and fingerprint recognition may be installed.

    Happy Sunday all...
