The issue being it could well have affected the price, by anyone who got wind of the imminent deals in the pipeline. I can only assume the deal was put on hold pending the government legislative changes, for it to happen so soon after, but would have been drafted up much earlier. Which means anyone involved would have a pretty good idea of whether it would proceed, contingent on favorable legislative changes.
Again I don't think there's necessary anything suspect going on here, but these ASX speeding tickets seem to be treated as a gentle reminder, rather than serious inquiry into anomalous trades.
