LNP made a rod for their own back promising to support most if not all of the ALP policies, for the term of the forward estimates which is 4 years.
However Labor have never acknowledged the damage they did nor the poor handling of the economy.
perseng thinks the economy was going ok under Labor. He's wrong, it was booming! China poured hundreds of billions into this country during the mining construction & commodities boom which started in earnest in 2009. And has only tapered off last year.
ALP had the ride of the century and still blew the budget and put us into debt.
The LNP has been in for less than 2 years, and already people like perseng are caning them because they haven't turned things around.
Well I don't know if they ever will. I don't know if any party can ever do it. Australia seems hell bent on going down the path of spending more than it earns. We all know how that ends up - Greece will be just the first advanced economy to collapse in coming years.
All it tells me is that our tax free PPOR status will likely go, there will be more changes to superannuation, more tax increases to PAYG payers, and more cuts to government services.
Little by little, we will all go down, because there are too many people taking out more than they put back in.
