B&B I think you will find the problem is the Iraqis are proven liars but so is the American administration. Peolpe were not so much believing Saddam as not believing either side.
At least the Iraqis were backing their claims by allowing weapons inspections - which as stated by the inspectors were producing results and needed more time.
The US could have obtained a large world wide backing (there would always be those against the US) if they did one simple thing - PROVIDING SOME PROOF.
