You flip flop around a bit don't you? Yes Chinese investment is an issue in the USA too. But the USA is a big place and the scale of purchases here is on a completely different scale.
But if you are asking would Americans be outraged if any state of city's yearly foreign property purchases exceeded 30% I can quite confidently answer yes.
Japanese purchases of American icons like Colombia Pictures and The Rockafella Centre in the 1980s caused outrage in the American public. But the crashing of their property and stock market bubble ended up putting an end to all that.
China has 10 times the population and a government that can fix the rules in their favour but I wonder if they will suffer the same fate? What do you think?

I welcome foreign investment. I didn't ask if people would be outraged in the USA. I don't care. I asked why are you so concerned about Australia's sovereignty and not your own. The rules are the same.
