Major industry analyst recognizes Orion Health's role in transforming health
services
Auckland, 22 July 2015 - Orion Health, (OHE: NZX) has been recognised as a
leader in providing health information data in a major study of healthcare
providers to the United States market, the company announced today.
A study in the latest IDC MarketScape: U.S Health Information Exchange
Platform Solutions 2015 Vendor Assessment (Doc #HI256040, July 2015),
includes Orion Health in a survey of just seven organisations, all selected
for their market share, market penetration, and growth potential. The report
cites the company's performance in managing population health data by
providing a comprehensive platform and robust integration technology.
The IDC MarketScape report specifically highlights Orion Health's Healthier
Populations Solution Suite, noting the Orion Health Open Platform as
combining world-class integration engine technology with a highly-scalable
and flexible modern database architecture.
This technology is critical in making it possible for healthcare
organisations to drive informed action across various clinical settings.
The report noted that one of Orion Health's primary assets is its Rhapsody
Integration Engine -- as its ability to integrate with any Health Information
Technology (HIT) system enables true interoperability. It also cited Orion
Health's leadership in offering open Application Program Interfaces (APIs) so
its clients and third-party developers can develop their own applications to
run on the Orion Health Open Platform.
The IDC MarketScape said Orion Health's Open Platform appears to be unique in
market, in that it uses Apache Cassandra, an innovative, open source
distributed database management system. This technology provides the
functionality required to ingest and process clinical, claims and less
traditional data types, such as data from wearables and genomics, in
real-time.
