And it weighed 400KG more than the petrol version because it was carrying so much battery weight. And every kg of battery you add, a portion of its capacity is used just to luh itself around.
As I said in an earlier post, phones laptops and cordless power tools had no patent restrictions and they are predominantly Lithium Ion. That should tell you something about NiMH tech.
They just do not have anywhere near the power density of Li. As I posted earlier, even if you double the power density of the Prius battery, to have the same energy storage capacity as the Tesla P85 battery pack, you are looking at around 1,500kg battery pack vs Tesla 554kg pack.
Want to triple the Prius tech battery capacity per kg, you are still looking at a bettery pack that weighs around double the Tesla pack or 500kg plus more.
Discussing it on here is not going to help Lynas but I just hate seeing misinformation spread.
