Myer wields jobs axe as Richard Umbers scrambles to reverse flatlining sale
The nation’s biggest department store, Myer, is primed to offer a swathe of voluntary redundancies as it shifts away from a workforce dominated by full- and part-time staff to more casual hours. As part of the voluntary redundancy program that will affect two-thirds of its 67 stored, which could see hundreds of staff leave, Myer is also looking to reduce the hours of its remaining part-time workforce by as much as 20 per cent, The Weekend Australian can reveal.
