Your 100% right that the blue sky vision of globsl news agency has a lot of hurdles to be truely disruptive. But short term primary question is can it become a profitable business.
Prob a better comparison is near maps 2 years ago. Has it taken over Google maps and become a multi $bn business? No. But it does provide a great mapping service councils and industry find useful and are Willing to pay for making it a nice little $175m market cap company.
We have proven though deal flow this new service not only sells and is wanted, but globally to multiple players. Once revenue runs come through and we see real $ growth this will follow same path as NEA. Could easily 4/5 bag next 12 months.
Will is become a globally disruptive news powerhouse? Maybe not, (but also perhaps). I agree with try three it's virtually not relavant to whether there is money to be made here as an investor in the short term.
