(Ecclesiastes 3:19) for there is an outcome for humans and an outcome for animals; they all have the same outcome. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit. So man has no superiority over animals, for everything is futile.

Early man was only allowed to have a vegetarian diet

so eating of the fruit of plants and eating the vegetation they were seed bearing and able to regenerate its life from such means.
Plant life that flowers may wilt and disappear but they were to reemerge from the seed, branch, stem or ground.
If you were to rely on purely materialistic observations of Nature made by Adam he could just have easily surmised that death would not be the end of existence.
As for animals dying the first recorded deaths of a beast are also post fall of man.
They were those animals slain by God himself to provide clothing from their skins to cover Adam and Eve.
The first innocent blood sacrifice for sin.
There is no earlier record of animal death prior to this point and we have the future promise of no death in the new Eden reflects the initial state of creation enjoyed by Adam and Eve.

But is there a record of a person dying pre fall for Adam to have witnessed it consequences?
