I was listening to some reports on the Labor conference this morning and I heard the political commentator say that Tanya Plibersek was pushing for a compulsory yes vote from Labor. I believe it was not passed but agreed that if 2 election cycles passed without party agreement then the right for a free vote would be removed and members would be forced to vote yes to marriage equality whether they agreed with it or not.
