Mum and Dad just bought a puppy for $2,500 (crazy right?), they spent $200 on a 'bed', $60 on toys, $100 on food, $40 on medicines and a further $80 on bowls and crap.
High Conviction.
No other stock I own has this kind of ridiculous spend thrift buying attached to it. People go 'ga-ga' when it comes to pets. It's unbelievable how sensible people (mum and dad) will complain over paying an additional 50c on a coffee but will spend hundreds, even thousands on a pet.
I'm sure this dog will have some kind of sickness or injury in its lifetime - and that's when the vet part comes in to play.
65% of Australians own a pet.
I looked at Greencross at $10 last year and called it expensive. I'm looking now at $6 and it's far more reasonable - I'm putting our 'doggy insurance' into Greencross shares.
