1) It was a message to all of us, myself included. Alarm bells went off in my head some time ago regarding my beliefs. I constantly test my beliefs. I'm open to change and embrace change. I have spent many, many hours researching information people on HC have suggested I read and this has reshaped my opinion to some degree.

2) If you have or had read my previous posts you would know that I believe in a Creative Essence, God. You would also know that I do not believe in the primordial soup hypothesis. All matter, all life was generated by a Creative force, God. There was a Creative moment in which every possible permutation of life was known to this Creative Essence. Nothing evolves in a way that was not known from the beginning. A process was initiated that firstly formed the universal structures we see today over billions of years. To this life was introduced. The beginning of all matter is one substance. The beginning of all elements is hydrogen with one proton, neutron and electron. From this atom all other elements were produced.

It is highly likely that the same thing occurred with life. A single replicating organism produced classes of organism that gave rise to creatures within their own phylum. Dogs do not become hippopotamus but a progenitor creature may have been the animal of divergence for cats, dogs and bears etc. Once a form is fixed it does not evolve into another species.

We differ in that you view the Bible as an infallible, literal work. I view the Bible as a generally insightful work that was never meant to be read literally. Religious works require an effort to extract their true meanings because such a gift is not given lightly. Combine the wisdom and insight of the Bible with the revelations of science and one can see a clearer picture of what the Bible writers wanted us to know. I'm not a convert to Darwinian evolution, it has may misunderstandings in its outcomes, but a form of evolution does exist and is an aspect of endless Creation.

Evolution is basically a dead duck with our discovery of the complexity of even the most basic creature but Wafflehead are you getting around the corpse of evolution by thinking it was the Creator that initiates life and then the changes that occur and it is the creator that then "fixes' the species which halts the process?.
