metar,no i dont necessary believe that them having nukes would make for a safer world.However,i dont think bombing or invading them to prevent them enjoying nuclear power is an answer or anyone's right to do so.
I also don't necessary believe that them having a nuke would endanger the rest of us either,at least not any more than we presently live with. There is so much hype spoken about the 'boggie men',but thats not new.We had a cold war that lasted 40+ years during which little red men under our beds were waiting to blow us up.At least that's what the US defence people wanted us to believe to justify the trillions spent on an industry built on smarter ways of killing people.
I do believe however,that the only reason none of that ever happened was due purely to the balance of power. The US once threatened the USSR that they could wipe them off the map a hundred times over.Mr Khrushchev replied that he was content wiping them off the map once.
Why do you assume its any safer for the world for Israel to have nukes and not their neighbours?. Why do assume that the Israelies are to be trusted any more or better than their neighbours? What makes them so different when it comes down to fighting for survival? It would be my ideal if no-one had them,or AIDS for that matter but thats not going to happen soon.
"Suicide bombers"? Hardly a new concept and certainly not an Arab phenomenon.Suggest a read up on the origins of assasins not to forget Japanese kamikaze pilots.
Last but not least i would ask those indignant zealots of the world ie; those same self righteous yak's and other supporters to tell us how many British soldiers ex- leader Begin and co blew up to hell during their struggle to create Israel. Ofcourse they will say blowing up hotels full of people was justified and for the sake of the 'cause'.(sound familiar anyone?) Not to mention the fact it was the same people who saved them and took them there.
Strange thing about some races of people that they would have us, on the one hand to remember the injustices and crimes committed against them and yet, ask or assume that we forget those that they commit.
