Majorly disturbing is undoing dewatering-is the biggest sin; it is the biggest sin because re-saturation of the walls can have devastating consequences as shown by major wall collapse events in the ref below.
Now I am not saying a major wall collapse event has occurred or will occur at the Siana pit; but the fact that it will take 6-9 months to clean the pit up "as a result of deterioration during the C & M period" is disturbing, images of the pit floor under water in late 2014 early 2015 is disturbing, rehabilitation of bore pumps is disturbing (see re-saturation comment), a wall-depressurisation consultant to be engaged & the latest quarterly announcement is a complete 1st principal review; hydrogeology, geotechnical, open pit resource & evaluation of underground.
My gut feeling is there is possibly more to the pit story; I keep harping on full disclosure rules as stated in the Aust Corp Act 2001.
