Jaded you've been playing the same record for quite some time now. I think you need to realise that maybe one of these super pits WILL go into production and indeed squeeze out some of the smaller players that you have an interest in. There are arguments that would suggest that maybe there is more demand out there than had been interpreted by 'experts' particularly on the China front as evidenced by offtake partners actually requesting twice as much as BB was willing to supply.. There is also a strong suggestion that future demand for insulation and storage related products will grow significantly but by how much is anyone’s guess. The thing is and it is the 'Thing' that is going to shake up the market, is the cost of production offered by our super pit that will potentially squeeze out the competition.
I, OPB and pretty much anyone here knows that graphite is not a one size fits all play and I find it slightly offensive that you would think it necessary to state this reality as if it were not common knowledge?. From their announcements it appears that TON intends to offer a full range of products/materials as required by the client and are in a unique position to be able to do so - not to mention the vertical integration that will enable them to upgrade materials before shipping from MOZ or in china which will again add value to shareholders.
Make no mistake - just because SYR appears to be struggling this in no way can be extrapolated across to TON. They have completely different business models, leadership and partners. Triton is building its business from the ground up integrating knowledge, experience and expertise both internally and through industry partnerships as well as building strong local community and regional and national government relationships.
I think Triton will soon show itself to be the main game in town as it continues to tick all the right boxes.
