Thanks w27 for the positive feedback. I must admit inhaled zafirlukast, in my opinion, is definitely the big short term player for Invion. I am watching the case for inhaled and oral nadolol closely as well. I was around in the days when beta-blockers were contraindicated in heart failure and now we use specific beta-blockers for patients with heart failure, starting at a low dose and titrating upwards to have a very profound positive effect on overall mortality and morbidity. If Invion is correct in its hypothesis, then this could have a very pronounced effect on COPD and asthma treatment, as beta blockers traditionally worsen COPD by causing bronchconstriction. However, data from invion shows that careful uptitration is safe and decreases mucous production. But until we get data on the smoking cessation trial this is still a bit up in the air, albeit some positive news has come from the interim study.
