I think the problem is that both of them are only in with a chance because the other is just as terrible (currently) as a choice for leading. I respect neither of them at this point in time and both have shown no reason why they deserve any sort of thing that would resemble respect. IMO, J.Bishop or Plibersek are better choices for the respective parties (Turnbull has no chance at the LNP as leader).
We're all aware that politics in Australia has been a toxic scene for a long while now, and it's only getting worse.
