Hi kalenn...I think you will find all that algorythmic trading is legitimate. With all the Separately Managed Account web-based software platforms out in the market these days, you will find that they (the product/platform) providers have arrangements in place with their Brokers to execute trades at VWAP.
What does this all mean? Well - Fin Planners are promoting SMA products offered by these platform providers because they have ultra-low transaction costs and because trades can be aggregated across multiple clients on any given day. This is mainly affecting the big ticket stocks, but it obviously covers all stocks.
These so-called manipulated trades aren't really that at all - they are a bi product of the technology now available that can execute small trades at almost zero cost. All these 'capping" and "stacking" theories are just "noise"...whats really happening is people just buying and selling the stock....and right now, its just that sentiment for resources is low. I maintain my assertion that there is absolutely zero AVB-specific manipulation happening.
