News: Talisman Mining reveals full Monty and it's impressive

Talisman Mining (ASX:TLM) has revealed that joint venture partner Sandfire Resources NL (ASX:SFR) has discovered more broad zones of high-grade copper at the Monty Prospect.

Latest reverse circulation drilling results include:

- 18.0 metres at 5.7% copper and 2.4g/t gold from 107 metres, including 4 metres at 14.2% copper and 3.6g/t gold;

- 4.0 metres at 4.2% copper and 0.7g/t gold from 158 metres.

The hole was drilled just 135 metres along strike from the massive sulphide intersection of: 9.2 metres at 11.8% copper and 2.9g/t gold from a 417 metre down-hole).

Today's new hits are also 200 metres along strike from the Monty discovery hole of: 16.5 metres at 18.5% copper and 2.1g/t gold from 409.5 a metre down-hole.

Monty is located 10 kilometres east of Sandfire's DeGrussa Copper Mine.

Drilling is continuing at Monty with Sandfire operating two diamond drill rigs and one reverse circulation drill rig.

Monty is part of Talisman's Springfield Project, which is subject to an exploration farm-in joint venture between Sandfire and Talisman.

Sandfire has the right to earn up to a 70% interest in Talisman’s Doolgunna Projects by the expenditure of $15 million on exploration at the projects.

Shares in Talisman last traded at $0.56, or over three times higher than when the discovery hole was made.

Based on today's results of an expanded mineralised area, shares are expected to open firmer.
