JB While I tend to agree with the jist of what you are saying I'm still very puzzled why they haven't released data relating to viral load and related efficacy data  in the lead up to the iPO - may be I'm missing something but it just doesn't make sense to me since they must have the relevant data from at least three patients.
In the San Diego trials they spell out the secondary end-point data sampling on Page 23

To feel myself feel better I had a look at the mice/monkey preclinical trials that Pzitzer/Tacere/BLT conducted http://www.benitec.com/documents/1311_tt_presn_hcv_aasld.pdf and the results seem very encouraging with no significant safety issues with dosing up to 1.25x10 13 vg/kg which is much higher than the max dose proposed in 'first in man' trials 4x1012 vg/kg.

Since we share about 98% of our genes with monkeys and (6% with mice the results are good enough for me not to be concerned about safety so as far and as I'm concerned it's non issue.

So I'm back to efficacy data and scratching my head as to why it's not available at what seems to me to be a very efficacious time - prior to asking a somewhat sceptical market for money.
