    Few older folk had the benefit of supper, they worked paid taxes in the knowledge they would eventually get the pension. Unfortunately for those that didn't buy their own home and/or put money aside the pension is hardly sufficient.

    No doubt the idea of supper was so eventually people would be funding their own pensions/retirements, sadly those on low incomes will not have all that much and we don't know if government will provide some sort of pension to top them up.

    Having not been an employee since 1992 when compulsory supper came in I don't have any, fortunately I have assets including my own home and may well be able to receive a pension
