Abbott first made the announcement and gave the impression most if not all the work would be done in SA.
Then he said there would be a competitive evaluation process, leaving the door open for many other options or should I say excuses.
We then hear some of the work could be done in Victoria and Tasmania and it was not until Colin Barrett kicked up and pointed out WA had ship building infrastructure and capability that Abbott started to suggest some work could be done in WA.
Yesterday in Question time Abbott gave the impression that a big majority of the ship building would be in WA, funny that given the up and coming Canning by-election.
You don't have to be cynical to see this is a vote buying exercise and with a start date set well beyond the next election who know if or what will happen
