    re: that hole in the pentagon chris When landing an aircraft you fly in at an angle (obviously to get close to the ground) then level out until the thing basically stops flying - aerodynamic forces diminish, gravity takes over and it lands.
    This is at low landing speeds - flaps and other devices to increase the lift of the wings and decrease the stall speed are deployed to enable landing at relatively low speed.
    At low speeds yes - aircraft are not overly responsive - however at higher speeds they are quite reponsive to control inputs and flying one into the Pentagon would not be overly difficult.
