MAKO NETWORKS RECEIVERSHIP

Spark New Zealand has previously provided asset financing to a technology
company, Mako Networks ("Mako"). Last week Mako was placed in liquidation and
Spark New Zealand has subsequently appointed receivers to Mako.

Over the last two financial years, Spark New Zealand has made provisions
against this receivable in its financial statements and is comfortable with
the carrying value.
