The trading halt strategy has actually been used by companies before to avoid market carnage. And invariably whether its good news or bad news, it gets treated as bad news. The market always plays catch up, no one is immune. The overwhelming sentiment is fear, so what you really need to consider is not what the news is, what the market is doing, but the psyche of the investors on your share registry.
Not saying this is the boards strategy, its just a case of bad timing for everyone, whatever youre invested in. Foolish to think youve avoided anything by being in a trading halt. Youll see tomorrow. Unless of course its a spectacular announcement....
