I think a lot are waiting for the big one, and there is someone else trying to hold things down. We are seeing some massive upward spikes followed by hard slams back to earth. We had a 25% plus spread last night. My take is someone looking to depress the price to make a lowball takeover bid or to swing in as a cornerstone investor and getter a bigger chunk cheaper. Why else would people be offering to borrow shares for shorting at 43% return? Because they have an ulterior motive knowing even bigger pay dirt is around the corner.
IMO it's a game of chicken at the moment and time is running out for whoever is playing these games. There is a bunch of money ready to flow in when the risk disappears, and they are trying to position themselves before it does. With billions of future revenue at stake one can't help but suspect that the vultures are doing everything they can, however they can, to get as big as possible a chunk of the pie.
