Well I still don't know definitively. On the one hand, why would the company choose to dud existing shareholders in favour of new shareholders? On the other, why else did they announce a dividend a month ahead of schedule and with such curious timing wrt to the SPP?
The SPP offer document states: all new shares issued under the SPP will rank equally with existing ordinary shares from the date of issue and therefore will carry the same voting rights, dividend rights and other entitlements as existing ordinary shares.
So what is the date of issue? The Key Dates table does not use that term. It says Allotment of New Shares 31 August. I don't know if this is the same thing as date of issue. And then the SPP document also states all dates are indicative and may be subject to change. DDR reserves its right to vary the dates. So there could be a last minute delay!
