you reckon they need to do a deal ?? Nev and Andrew seem as calm as ever, I think they are thinking in the back of our heads, there is 600,000,000 million tonnes of higher cost production above us so why should we deal now + 4 years until any debt needs paying
last week the china steel association dude said at this point iron ore is in deficit
who knows once a couple hundred m/t exits the market FMG can ramp up to 180-200/mt at hardly no extra cost, that just there is $150-$250million profit per year bonus.
I also think its in BHP' best interest to buy FMG, Fortescue has crippled BHP pillar of strength + no matter which way it turns its surrounded by FMG land mass, pretty scary really.
Just a thought, why don't they do a deal into some other type of commodity
