I guess when the Chinese realise (as they do), that they can write the rules, be the umpire, pump up the balls ( and any stock market or segment they like), and cut the tulips...etc

The Chinese have been attempting to "write the rules" for some time, but they keep on messing it up. They can't keep their own house in order, so how do you expect them to project global economic power? The Chinese are an inward looking, insecure and xenophobic race. They do not have right mindset to run an Empire.
