Welcome aboard and thanks for the info on OPT. I had a read. The OPT PowerBuoy APB - 350 uses the heave motion of a wave to generate energy from up and down movement upon a long shaft which transfers the heave movement to rotation. The device would be much more expensive to construct than the Protean WEC and would need to be deployed in deeper water as it is 12.5 metres long and 10,000 kgs in weight for a peak power output of 15 kw. Perhaps it as more of a competitor to CWE's CETO?
