What about the [relatively] peaceful Muslim pupolations in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei? Indonesia bar the recent issues (Bali, et al), the country with the worlds largest Musilm population has also been relatively free of extremism.
The Wahabi tribesmen have always been a little, shall we say, rural, but that is a cultural / ME issue, not one with it's root cause being Islam. These are mad men who happen to be Muslim, not all Muslims are mad.
