Currently there is a campaign across regional Australia seeking intervention from the Abbott government to prevent the loss of that regional identity through reversion to national news from owners mastheads. Thus far it appears that Abbott is deaf to those regional concerns as he refused to even talk to locals while in Wodonga on Friday.
