Nickyjames, study the historical record and then identify which major religions have not been associated with 'holy wars'. IMO it's in their DNA; organised religions are all about mind control and of course the accumulation of wealth.

What has previously set Australia apart is sectarianism based on those values which collectively define us as Australians. We've hitherto sent a firm message to everyone that religion is a lifestyle choice to which they are entitled and in return for which they have the responsibility to respect alternative choices made by others.
We deviate from those values at great risk to social cohesion!
